In the SMT (Surface Mount Technology) production process, SMT mounting tapes play a crucial role in connecting the carrier tapes of electronic components. The correct use of SMT receiving tape not only ensures the continuity of production but also effectively avoids waste and reduces production costs.

How to use SMT mounting tape correctly to avoid waste?

Choosing the right SMT mounting tape is the first step. The width and thickness of the carrier tapes for different electronic components vary. Therefore, the SMT receiving tape that matches the actual carrier tape parameters should be precisely selected. For instance, for narrow carrier tapes, the corresponding narrow specification receiving tape should be selected to ensure a tight fit between the two. If the receiving tape is too wide or too narrow, it will affect the connection effect, causing the components to shift or even fall during transportation, resulting in a double waste of the components and the receiving tape.

Standardized operation procedures are of vital importance. Before use, clean the connection parts of the carrier tape to remove dust, oil stains and other impurities to ensure good adhesion between the receiving tape and the carrier tape. When operating, accurately align the SMT receiving tape with the interface of the carrier tape, slowly stick it from one end to the other, and at the same time apply appropriate pressure with a tool to ensure that the receiving tape firmly adheres to the carrier tape.
